A clamp has a body 1, a clamping member 4, which is pivoted on a pin 6 mounted in inclined slots 5 in the body 1, and a rod 8 which is pivotally mounted to the body 1 at 9. The body is provided with a recess 25 which receives a portion 23 of the clamping member 4, with a recess 13 which receives a member 7 to be clamped and with a screw-threaded stud 2 having a handle 3 which, when rotated, screws the stud into an optical instrument (not shown) for example. The member 4 has an opening 27 and recesses 18, 29 whilst the rod 8 is provided with screw threads and has a nut 10 mounted thereon. In use the members 7 and 4 together with the rod 8 are moved to the positions shown in Fig. 2 where the rod 8 is received in the opening 27 of the member 4 and a washer 28 on the rod 8 is received in the recess 29. The nut 10 is rotated to tighten the clamp, the pin 6 of the member 4 being wedged by means of the inclined slots 5. |
