<p>The particle detector for counting the number of ferromagnetic particles passing along an oil flow line (3) includes inductance coils (1, 2) wound around the flow line. The inductance coils are supplied with an alternating signal from an oscillator (4) and produce an output signal which is applied to a demodulator (6). The demodulator passes signals having a predetermined phase relationship set by phase shifter (7) with respect to the input signal. This distinguishes between ferromagnetic particles and other discontinuities.</p> |
