PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of treating city refuse and sewerage, by treating sewerage and wet refuse of the city refuse after mixing them together, and treating dry refuse of the city refuse and suspended solids separated by sewage treating system together by way of combustion. CONSTITUTION:After city refuse is crushed to pieces, it is classified into two types; dry refuse, wet refuse, metals, glasses (here, the latter two are included in the so-called ''wet'' refuse). Wet refuse is mixed with sewerage, and metals and glasses contained therein are settled at sedimetation tank and recovered therefrom. Sewage containing suspended matters is treatend by way of well-known method in use of activated sludge, and water thus purified is discharged to rivers, whereas dehydrated sludge and the like are formed into sludge cakes. Dry refuse, on the other hand, is sent to boiler and combusted there. Further, suspended matters recovered at the final settling basin in the sewage treating system are dehydrated and combusted. |
