A metering valve for supplying lubricating oil or pneumatic tools consists of a block housing a double acting piston (1). Lubricating oil under pressure is supplied through the hole (9) and is forced past the lip seal (6) of the double beat valve (5) and at the same time pushes the valve forward to block the hole (10). The oil flows into the chamber (3) and raises the piston (1). When the pressure of the oil drops the valve (5) is pushed against the inlet (9) and the spring (12) pushes the piston (1) downwards driving a measured amount of oil back through the chamber (8) to the outlet (16).
