<p>The deaf aid increases the acuity of the user's hearing by using the bones as conductors, and comprises a microphone, an amplifier and a vibrator unit. Its components are accommodated in a device having the appearance of a smoker's item, e.g. a pipe, cigarette with holder, etc. When a shape like a pipe is used, an extension can be mounted in the bowl, having at its end the microphone connected to the pipe stem by one or two very fine wires. The extension can be a coiled metal strip, unwound so as to bring the microphone (3a) near to the source of noise, and then locked to hold it at the desired distance.</p> |
