Electroerosive metal machine system - uses stationary arc and forced transverse fluid flow between tool and work

The system creates a discharge in a liquid-filled chamber between tool and work, these forming the two electrodes. A stationary arc (3) is used for the electrical discharge, and the current (A) of fluid is forced in the transverse direction between the electrodes (1, 2). The speed of the fluid can be set to at least 1 metre per second for roughing and increased for finish-machining. The system increases output while reducing power consumption.
