Inert rendering system for storage vessel - feeds in nitrogen quantity equivalent to gases removed by reactor

The system renders vessels inert by means of nitrogen, the air contained in the vessel being pumped round a circuit comprising vessel, fittings, pipes, other accessories, and an absorption-type reactor separating the oxygen. Nitrogen is fed into the circuit from a storage vessel outside in a quantity to the amount of oxygen and other gases apart from nitrogen removed by the reactor from the circuit. The charging or discharging times of the reactor can be varied dependent on the oxygen content in the gas pumped round the circuit.
