The ophthalmological laser apparatus has means for transmitting the beam to the operating arm and deflecting it there to a marking point, together with an optical illumination system for the area and one for microscopic examination. The laser unit (4) and the illumination system are rigidly coupled together and to a gap illumination unit (6) equipped with a light-permeable component (13) with markings, deflecting the beam onto the target, all in a housing (14) slewing about the same axis as the microscope (1). The axis lies in the focal plane of the units and system mentioned and in that of the microscope. All optical components transmitting the laser beam to the operating area are outside the housing and rigidly secured to it.
