A rotary cutting tool has a supporting element secured in the tool body opposite to the cutting zone, said element interacting with the tool spindle 3 or cutting element 4 and intended to load the spindle with forces which approach closely the cutting forces in magnitude but are opposite to them in direction. The rotary cutting tool features high stiffness and resistance to vibration thereby ensuring higher accuracy, quality and efficiency of machining. The element comprises a shackle 6 moved inwardly by eccentric pin(s) 9 to preload a bearing 11 against the cutting element 4. Alternatively a screwthreaded plug acts directly, or via a plate, on an intermediate element which bears against a bearing surrounding the spindle. <IMAGE> |
