<p>The system reduces accumulation pressure where there are a number of conveyor tracks along side each other, particularly those handling bottles etc. which have to pass through a series of machines working at different speeds. Sections of parallel tracks can be cut in and out, while adjacent ones continue to run. Feelers can be mounted in the tracks, reacting to accumulation pressure so as to cut the drives to track sections in and out. The individual sections can be driven separately, or from a common source via clutches which can be disengaged.</p> |
