Connection for driven piles with welded brackets - has projections at pile joint end diverting loads away from joint to shorten driving time

The joint between driven pile ends has welded connection brackets. This arrangement ensures good guiding for the second driven pile which has already been inserted. The whole pile length is available on tension loading. Brackets (9) are welded on flanges (3) or webs (8) of the connected pile ends (6, 7). The brackets are connected by the tension connectors. These connectors hace at both ends (11) a hammer head profile. The brackets (9) prevents tearing of the welded joints when the pile is driven because forces are not directed through welded points. The driving time of the composite pile is appreciably shortened because the major part of the welding is carried out in the works and not on site.
