The fastener for connecting wooden furniture panels has a cylindrical body (1) insertable into a corresp. cylindrical recess in a side of one of the panels. The recess has a peripheral part open to the adjacent edge of the panels. The cylindrical body has a square flange (3) abutting the side of the panel. The flange has spikes (4) which enter the wood when the flange is pressed home to strengthen the connection between the body and the panel against the pull of the other panel.
