PURPOSE:To make a life in the case of maintaining the degree of vacuum longer and to improve mechanical strength by making an inner cylinder, an outer cylinder and a flange of metal and fixing plural glass pipes through which metallic wire is made to pass in the circumferential direction of the outer surface of the inner cylinder with glass having a low melting point. CONSTITUTION:The inner cylinder 2 is formed of metal in a cylindrical shape and a package 7 equipped with an infrared-ray detecting element 6 is provided on one end face of the cylinder 2 and the metallic flange 4 where an input/output terminal 15 is hermetically sealed is bonded to the other end face thereof. The outer cylinder 3 is formed of metal in a cylindrical shape and a window 5 made of a infrared-ray transmitting material and the flange 4 are bonded to one end face and the other end face of the cylinder 3 respectively. The glass pipes 16 through which the metallic wire 14 is made to pass are provided on the outer surface of the inner cylinder 2 and supported in a state where the metallic wires 14 are insulated from one another and the pipes 16 are insulated from the inner cylinder 2. In order to fix the pipe 16 to the inner cylinder 2, for example, the frit of glass 17 having the lower melting point than that of the pipe 16 is applied to the outer surface of the inner cylinder 2 and glass rods are bound to the inner cylinder 2 with another metallic wire. Then, they are heated as a whole to melt only glass 17, so that the metallic wire with which the glass rods are bound is removed. |
