The radiation-sensitive material serves for recording information by optical means. The material is decomposed thermally by an energy between 10 and 100 mJ/cm<2>. After recording, the information can be read out without further processing. The material comprises a transparent substrate with a light-impermeable As-Se layer of a thickness between 200 and 2,000 @. The radiation-sensitive layer is coated with a protective covering layer, which is not damaged by the action of recording energy. The material requires considerably lower energy densities than hitherto. A greater edge sharpness of the information track can be obtained. |
