PURPOSE:To obtain the silver halide photographic sensitive material for black and white having high sensitivity, high hardness and high Dmax by incorporating a nonphotosensitive silver halide emulsion into hydrophilic colloidal layers. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive material has the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers and the hydrophilic colloidal layers on a base. The silver halide emulsion consists of the monodisperse silver halide particles contg. 0.1 to 3mol% silver iodide and having <=20% coefft. of dispersion. The substantially nonphotosensitive silver halide emulsion is incorporated into the hydrophilic colloidal layers. The silver halide photographic sensitive material is subjected to image exposing then to a development processing by a developing soln. for black and white contg. >=0.3mol/l sulfurous acid ions and compd. having an adsorption acceleration group to silver halide. The silver halide photographic sensitive material for black and white having the high sensitivity, the high contrast and the high Dmax is obtd. in this way. |
