PURPOSE:To obtain an arbitrary necessary region of original image as an image by a simple constitution having a light source for controlling image forming regions and mask members which control the light from said light source through superposing. CONSTITUTION:A light source 9 radiates the control light 16 of the image region for controlling the formation of electrostatic latent images and erases the charged charges of the unnecessary letent image regions on a photoreceptor 1. A slit 18 is provided to a light source frame 15 so that the radiation width of the control light 16 coincides with the radiation width (d) of the exposure light 17 of the original image. Mask members 10a, 10b are polarizing plates and when superposed, they cut off th control plate 16, thus inhibiting the arrival of the control light 16 to the photoreceptor 1. This causes the image to be remained without being erased but in the portions where the members do not overlap, the control light 16 is transmitted, thus erasing the charged charges on the photoreceptor 1. As a result, it turns out that the unnecesary images are erased. |
