<p>In a composite bearing material including a metal strip, a porous sintered metal matrix layer bonded to a surface of said metal strip and a resin composition impregnated into and substantially filling the voids in said porous metal layer and forming a continuous surface layer thereon, the resin composition consists essentially of a blend of 60 to 95 percent by weight of polytetrafluoroethylene and 40 to 5 percent by weight of a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene, and mostly all of the copolymer in the composition is included in the surface layer in the form of a fibrillated network.</p> |
