PURPOSE:To make it possible to use the coupler in a broad frequency band by making it possible to vary freely the specific impedance in an even mode (EVENMODE), by providing two grounded conductor while encircling two coupling lines and slits. CONSTITUTION:Coupling lines 1 and 1' of two strip lines couple mainly with upper and lower boards 32a and flank 32 and slightly with side boards 32b, and slits 6 and 6' are provided to side boards 32b. In this constitution, the ideal field distribution in an even mode can be obtained, the adjustment of width S of slits 6 and 6' makes it possible to vary characteristic impedance Zoe in an even mode, and the matching of Zoe near conversion conductors 4 and 4' becomes possible, thereby improving VSWR and leak characteristics. Further, the reflection damping amount characteristics and leakage damping amount characteristics are shown in (a) and (b) respectively, and both improved by about 7 to 10dB, so that the use in a broad frequency band can be made possible. |
