<p>PURPOSE:To simply, accurately detect the slip without settling the roll diameter, by installing the roll speed detector and the operator for computing the ratio of reference speeds and the ratio of roll speeds, and by detecting the slip depending on these ratios. CONSTITUTION:The reference speed is detected by the pulse of the pulse oscillator 4 attached to the work roll 1 of the rolling mill. The pulse signal, from the pulse oscillator 3 attached to the deflector roll 2 on the feeding side, is inputted to the pulse counter 6 and is counted for a specified time; and the count Pdi is memorized in the buffer memory 5. At the same time, the count Pwi for the pulse of the pulse oscillator 4 is memorized in the buffer memory 8. Besides, after a specified time, each of pulses is again counted, and the ratio Hpd, Hpw, between these counts and former counts are operated by the dividers 9, 10. The results of these operations are compared by the comparator 11; when Hpd is out of following conditional range, the existence of the slip is judged, Hpw-alpha<=Hpd<=+alpha; in which alpha is the dead band.</p> |
