<p>The appts. is carried by a motorised frame and has steam chests which are raised and advanced automatically. The frame is supported on four independent wheels or rollers. Jacks are connected between the frame and the steam chests for raising and lowering them. Steam is introduced into the chests by a system of valves, such that when the chests are lowered for ground disinfection the steam is admitted and it is cut off when the chests are raised. Pressure is exerted on the chests by operating jacks to raise the frame from the ground.</p> |
