A motif is printed on one face of a textile that is of a darker colour than the motif being printed. An emulsion is prepd. based on TiO2, an aq. dispersion of a self-crosslinking butadiene copolymer, a fixing agent, and >=1 viscosity regulator to enable the emulsion to penetrate into a surface zone immediately next to the face, at the time of printing. Current printing methods do not enable clear direct prints to be obtd. on a darker support. Usually practice is to use a discharge agent to decolorise the areas to be overprinted. This is a delicate operation possible only in a limited range of single colours. Trend is to print with pigments in pastes contg. TiO2, but current pastes are not fast to washing and dry-cleaning. Present invention overcomes this lack of fastness.
|
