<p>New colourants are of formula (I) (where D-NH- is the residue of a colourant of formula D-NH2 in which the amino gp. is reactive). The colourants have paramagnetic resonance (PMR) spectra that depend on their physical state within a prod. - e.g. mobile, dilute soln., crystallised, aggregated. They are therefore used (a) to study dyeing mechanisms of textile fibres, (b) to study the structure of plastic macromolecules and (b) in studies of alimentary toxicology, e.g. transmission of PVC in water).</p> |
