<p>PURPOSE:To provide the titled chemical agent made of aq. soln. of a water sol. oxyalkylene polymer, which increases the surface tension of molten slag in water to facilitate granulation and controls the foamability to give denseness when used in circulating water. CONSTITUTION:The chemical agent for production of granulated slag contains a water sol. oxyalkylene polymer of the formula. The polymer has an average MW of 5,000-100,000 and contains the residue of an active hydrogen-contg. cpd. and oxyalkylene units, e.g. oxyethylene units and oxypropylene units in a ratio of 50:50- 90:10 by wt. In order to produce the polymer, for example, to hexylene glycol are random added ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in the above ratio. The polymer is used in circulating water for production of granulated slag as a 0.002-20wt% aq. soln., esp. a 0.01-5wt% aq. soln. (where R is the residue of an active hydrogen- contg. cpd., R' is H, alkyl, aralkyl or acyl, m is an integer >=1, n is an integer >=1 and A is not less than 2C alkylene, pref. 2-4C alkylene).</p> |
