The coupling piece forms a sealed union between pipes, having one or more annular seals of elastic material at the end on the outside, and fitting inside the pipe. The seal is of cellular material, and has a surface for fixing to the coupling piece. A sloping surface extends outwards from the first surface, which is porous. The seal dimensions are such that after fitting it forms an intermediate layer between the inside of the pipe and the outside of the coupling piece. Porous rubber can be used for the seal material.
