PURPOSE:To preserve an aqueous solution of an acrylic acid hydrazide polymer for a long time without gelation, by the presence of hydrazine hydrate and/or a water- soluble inorganic salt of an alkali earth metal in amounts not less than the amount of the polymer. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic acid hydrazide polymer shown by the formulaI:[X is H or CH3; A is acrylamide, (meth)acrylate; B is a monomer copolymerizable with the acrylamide, (meth)acrylate; 30mol% <=1<=100mol%; 0mol% <=m+n<=70mol%; 1+m+n=100mol%]is incorporated with the following compounds in amounts not less than the amount of the polymer. Hydrazine hydrate (H) or a water-soluble inorganic salt of an alkaline earth metal (S), preferably CaCl2, or both are added to the aqueous solution of the polymer to meet the following conditions: (a) preferably the weight ratio of H/water+H<0.85 and (b) the amount of S in such a range as to be dissolved in the solution. |
