Packing unit of compressible material - has solid base consisting of compressed material and binding agent

The packing unit is in the form of a compressed bale of peat or similar free-flowing compressible material. It incorporates a solid base, composed of the compressed material itself and a binding agent holding it together, typically water-soluble and of clay etc. The bale can be of rectangular shape, its base dimensions being those of a standard transport pallet, e.g. 1,180 x 780 mm, while the height (h) is the standard loading height of a freight container, e.g. 2,800 mm. It can be wrapped, typically in shrinking sheet material.
