PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment of strip thickness by separately installing upper and lower working roll shaft box and the auciliary upper and lower roll shaft box in such a manner to be slidable individual in a RD rolling mill designed to roll at more than points with the strip wound around the roll. CONSTITUTION:A shaft box 3 of an upper working roll 2 is so arranged as to lide vertically by a hydraulic cylinder 4 and a reduction block 5 is arranged thereabove to lide vertically. In a space of the reduction block 5, a shaft 10 of an upper auxiliary roll 9 are arranged to be slidable separately in the vertical way independent of the reduction block 5. A shaft box 13 of a lower working roll 12 and a reduction block 14 therebelow and a shaft box 17 of a lower auxiliary roll 16 therein are arranged to be slidable separately in the vertical way. A strip S is passed between an upper auxiliary roll 9 and an upper roll 2 and upper and lower working rolls 2 and 12 and between a lower working roll 2 and a lower auxiliary roll 16 and rolling is made by changing the circumferential velocity of the upper and lower working rolls 2 and 12. In this process, the rolling load is varied freely with the sliding of the respective rolls to effect free adjustment of the thickness of the strip to be rolled. |
