- CANADA An apparatus for applying multi contact electrical connectors onto cables having a plurality of spaced parallel conductors includes a device for clamping positively the flat cable on a surface so that individual conductors are correctly aligned and located with respect to recesses communicating with the surface. A pressure block is mounted on a ram for reciprocal movement towards and away from the surface and means are provided for locating a connector between the cable and the pressure block. When the ram is actuated movement of the pressure block towards the surface causes the pressure block to engage a connector when positioned operatively between the pressure block and the cable. The contact arms of the contact embrace between them an individual conductor and enter into the associated recess. Ejector means are provided for ejecting the contact arms from their respective recesses subsequent to the assembly of the contacts to their conductors.
