PURPOSE:To prepare the titled compound useful as pharmaceuticals and flavors, in high yield and in a short time, by contacting pyrophosphoric acid-resistant variant of Arthrobacter, etc., with purine riboncleoside in the essence of phosphate ion under a condition inhibiting the growth of bacteria. CONSTITUTION:A pyrophosphoric acid-resistant variant belonging to Arthrobacter genus, Corynebacterium genus, or Micrococcus genus, pref. A variant which can from a colony even in the presence of pyrophosphoric acid of a concentration more than 200% of the minimum inhibitory concentration of the original strain, e.g. Arthrobacter atrocyaneus No.PP-13 (IFO13759), is subjected to freeze-melt treatment, or contacting with organic solvent, surface active agent, etc., to deprive the growth activity of the bacteria, 5'-Purine ribonucleotide is prepared by contacting the bacterial cells with purine ribonucleoside in an aqueous medium in the presence of phosphate ion. |
