The end sides of the rungs are pressed, by a fastening element, preferably a screw (2) which weakens only insignificantly the uprights (1), against their inner surface. Uprights (1) and rungs are designed in such a manner that the latter can neither rotate nor move. By means of this simple connection and by means of correct material selection and shaping, a stable and safe ladder results. Moreover, this type of rungs and their connection to the uprights allows anyone to make ladders themselves, only the rungs having to be bought extra. <IMAGE>
