The four-pole cable plug has the opening (7) for the cable in its end (8) set in away from the end by a distance equal to or greater than the minimum permissible bending radius of the cable (2). The hole is therefore roughly at the centre of the large face of the plug. The advantage of insetting the hole in this way lies in making the plug smaller both in its direction of insertion and at right angles to this direction.
