Surfacing films for chipboards - decorative paper is strengthened by bonding to substrate paper before high speed impregnation

A surface coating material, partic. for surfacing wood prods. chipboards etc., is produced by impregnating and combining together two or more webs of material. At least one of the webs is coated with adhesive on its side to be bonded to the other web and before impregnation; it is then brought together with the other web(s), the combined webs are impregnated and dried. Decorative and other surface films are produced at high speed and capable of being bonded on the underside to base boards, but give good smooth hard working finishes.
