The attachment extends between the crane hook and load has hydraulic cylinder and piston with remote control system. The attachment is single acting for lifting the load. The pressure chamber of the cylinder, on the piston rod (8) side, is connected by a control valve (32) with a precision metering arrangement (28, 36, 37) to a manually operated hydraulic pump (43). The load is suspended from the hook (9) on the piston rod. The load is slightly raised by hydraulic pressure and lowered by gravity.
