<p>The patterning of a flat bed knitting machine is arranged with electro magnetically selected stitch cams and these are moved by signals received from a memory store or by signals from fixed valve impulses unit, whose valves correspond to a movement over a certain number of needles. The signals are fed by a beam of light parallel to the bed of the machine and these can be controlled by screens along the bed either to give a signal at a certain position or not. By using these, the fixed impulse units and memory store can be passed, and the edge needles can be controlled separately.</p> |
