The pick-up fastening device utilises a suction cup (2). The open continuous marginal wall of the suction cup facing the surface is highly flexible. The flexible parts of suction cup are stiffened in certain places, so that high flexibility to the margin is guaranteed only in the direction parallel to the surface. The marginal wall (8) may be made as a sealing lip whose resting edge projects slightly beyond the resting face (4a) of the measuring electrode (4) or data pick-up. The plastic material of the suction cup may be electrically conductive.
