Developed images are fixed by passage through pressure rollers 30, 31, the exterior of the roller 30 being heated by a quartz lamp 64 and a ribbon heater 68. A silicone rubber blanket 37 surrounds a metallic cylinder 33 to form a heat barrier. A coating 38 of a vulcanizing compound serves as a release agent for toner particles which contact the roller 30 during fixing. An insulating coating 43, e. g. of tetra-fluorethylene is provided on the upper roller 31 to produce indentation of the blanket 37 and coating 38. |
