1395818 Photographic standard AGFAGEVAERT A G 10 May 1972 [11 May 1971] 21935/72 Heading G2X A standard for optical and measuring purposes having a predetermined density or transparency distribution in a photographic layer by (a) exposing a photographic material containing at least one silver halide gelatine emulsion layer behind a photographic test wedge, processing, deducing the photographic characteristic curve of the layer from the resulting image by plotting "transparency" or "density" against "exposure"; (b) entering the transparency or density distribution required in the standard is entered as a function of the X coordinate and reflecting this on the characteristic curve to determine the brightness distribution required for subsequent exposure on the same photographic material; (c) obtaining the required brightness distribution by optical anamorphotic means; and (d) using this distribution to expose the same photographic material and processing it using the same development conditions as in (a). |
