Title of Application: PHOTOCONDUCTIVE FIBER OR ROD A photoconductive fiber or rod comprising a core and a sheath having a lower refractive index than the core, as described. This sheath is surrounded by one or more additional sheaths, the coefficient of thermal expansion of which is lower than that of the first sheath or of the combination of the core and the first sheath. Such fibers or rods have improved mechanical strength relative to that of previously known photoconductive fibers or rods.
