Title cpds. of formulae (I) and (II): (where R1 is CH3, (1-4C alkoxy)-(1-4C alkyl) or Rj-C6H5-CH2- and R2, R3 and R4 are H, halogen, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or NO2) are prepd. by reacting a benzophenone deriv. of formula (II) (where X1-X3 are Cl or Br) with >=1 molar proportion of NH3, advantageously in the presence of a solvent (pref. a lower aliphatic alcohol).
