Fireproofing halogenated polyester-based preimpregnated material - using antimony tri:oxide, hydrated alumina and deca:bromo-bi:phenyl

The fire-proofing of pre-impregnated material based on halogenated polyester resin is improved by incorporating, per 100 pts. wt. resin: (i) 18-40 pts. wt. antimony trioxide; (ii) 120-300 pts. wt. hydrated alumina; and (iii) 8-30 pts. wt. decabromodiphenyl. The resin used is e.g. based on propylene glycol maleate and N, N'bis-ethane-2-ol-diamino-octachloro-diphenyl maleate. 15-50 wt.% (w.r.t. resin + components (i), (ii) and (iii) of glass fibres can be incorporated in the mixt. A sheet with fire resistance class M1 according to French standard NF P 92501 can be formed from this compsn.
