Surfactant concentrates for preparing oil-water emulsions - for use in oil recovery operations (NL 13.6.78)

Concentrates for the prepn. of microemulsions of oil and high-salinity water comprise a mixt. of (a) an alkyl sulphate surfactant, (b) an alkylaryl-sulphonate surfactant, (c) a sulphosuccinate or sulphosuccinamate surfactant and (d) a cosurfactant capable for forming hydrogen bonds with H2O. When mixed with oil and water, the concentrates form microemulsions which are stable at high temps. (e.g. 30-80 degrees C) and high salinities (e.g. 30-80 g/l monovalent and 0-15 g/l divalent ions). The microemulsions are esp. useful for secondary or tertiary oil recovery.
