<p>Appts. comprises (a) means for stocking rod or wire to be formed into rings, (b) means for guiding vertically and unwinding rod at the outlet of the spool on which wire is coiled, (c) first and second means for gripping the rod, the means being disposed one above the other, (d) means for alternately opening and closing the gripping means, and (e) means for moving vertically one of the gripping means, between an upper and lower position, the distance between the positions being equal to the rod length necessary to form a ring. Appts. further comprises (f) means to cut the rod, the means being disposed below the gripping means; (g) means for vertically guiding the cut rod, and (h) means for forming this portion of the rod into the ring, the means comprising:- (i) a mandrel associated with means for rotation, and (ii) a pulley mounted loosely on its axis and associated with means to provide contact of the pulley with the mandrel. The machine enables brazing rings to be placed onto workpieces such as tubes. The rings can be mass produced.</p> |
