Strip reinforcement for moulded shoe soles with integral heels - to simplify mould loading and fitting heel tips

A sheet metal which is bent normal to its axis to provide internal reinforcement for the sole, instep and heel of a moulded shoe sole is further modified in its shape in the heel zone by folding the borders of the plate parallel to the plate axis to form a short tunnel at the bottom of the heel reinforcement. The tunnel is sized to accept a stud either a) to support the reinforcing plate in position in the shoe sole mould, or b) to accept a stud for securing a tip on the base of the shoe heel. Opt. the plase is creased longitudinally to increase its stiffness under the instep nad the in the upper part of the heel. Suitable for reinforcing soles with integral stiletto heels moulded from polyurethane of PVC; and simplifies tool loading between cycles.
