<p>The dowel pin is for use in dentistry, being fixed in the plaster by a sleeve, both being tapered and half-round. The pin can have a recess at one end, engaging with a boss inside the sleeve, also an insertion point securing it in the impression. There can be bosses on the outside of the sleeve to secure it in the plaster. A recess at the end can secure an arch pin cap, so that if the point cannot be inserted in the impression it can be held by a flexible needle.</p> |
