The suppressor circuit has a signal adding circuit (6). One of its two single inputs (C, D) is connected to a delay line and the other is connected to the output (A) of the video signal source (1). Connected in front of each input of the signal adding circuit is a low-pass filter (3, 5) whose rise time is roughly equal to the delay time of the delay line (2). The first input (B) of a comparator circuit (4) is connected to the output (B) of the delay line free of a tap. Between the signal adding circuit and the comparator circuit there may be a low-pass filter (7).
