In order to extend the remote control of certain loads also to older domestic premises the signal receiver and its associated relay (B) is connected directly to the appliance (HB). The receiver and relay are thus inserted between the socket outlet and the load. They can be officially sealed to discourage tampering. The proposed arrangement, which can be applied to water heaters, washing machines and other large loads, does not involve the extensive cost of installing a second distribution panel with receiver and its own outgoing circuits.
