The X-ray diagnostic apparatus has a radiation tube supplied by a generator, an amplifier receiving the picture, and a television circuit displaying it. A unit (16) detects the direction in which the observer (15) is looking, and the ray source (1) produces a ray bundle (4) having an intensive portion (5) of high intensity of radiation, adjacent to which is a further portion (6) of lower intensity. The direction of the centray ray of the intensive portion is variable by a control unit (17) connected to the detector unit, so that it corresponds to the direction in which the observer is looking.
