The sample and hold circuit has the analog input signal applied to a hold capacitor connected to an amplifiers input. The amplifier is of the differential type with two signal inputs (1, 2). The hole capacitor (C) is connected across these two inputs. The sampling switch is connected between one plate of the capacitor and a reference potential. The output is taken between the reference potential and the amplifiers output. The reference potential may be earth.
