<p>A thickened, wet, ready-to-eat baby food is produced from an aq. formulation having a pH of =4.5, by incorporating in the formulation from 5-55 lb. per 100 galls, of final formulation of an ungelatinized tapioca starch modified by adjusting its moisture content to 15-35% by total wt. heating the moisture adjusted starch to 70-130 degrees C and maintaining this temp. for 1-72 hrs. filling and sealing containers with the formulation, and heating the starch-contg. aq. formulation for sterilisation purposes.</p> |
