PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and graininess and to obtain adequate development activity by incorporating planar silver halide particles having the average aspect ratio of a specific value or above and core/shell type silver halide particles which are normal crystals into at least one layer of emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:The planar silver halide particles having 5:1 average aspect ratio and the core/shell type silver halide particles which are normal crystals are incorporated into at least one layer of the emulsion layers of the silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one layer of the silver halide photosensitive emulsion layers and at least one layer of hydrophilic colloidal layers on a base. The adequate development activity is obtd. in this way while the high sensitivity and the excellent graininess are maintained and the control of the gradation within the specified development processing time is facilitated. |
